I really don't think I am high maintenance, but I do love my Coach bags. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3917175986608222742.post-81156853273354228002011-08-01T13:27:54.779-04:002011-08-01T13:27:54.779-04:00@ 5:57pm - I do have a handful of friends from bot...@ 5:57pm - I do have a handful of friends from both Skadden and Dickstein that I keep in touch with. But all of them were people whose friendships extended beyond work - we would talk on the phone, see each other outside of work events, etc. For most of my friends at my firms, the main thing we had in common was our jobs - and that is what we would talk about, bitch about, gossip about, etc. when we weren't actually working. There is nothing wrong with friendships like this - I worked with a lot of awesome people. But now that I have left my job, there isn't the common ground there once was. Not to mention, they are all super busy and don't always have time to catch up with a stay at home mom. :)But I Do Have a Law Degreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06362410549493994038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3917175986608222742.post-11168871706438963952011-07-28T17:57:44.429-04:002011-07-28T17:57:44.429-04:00Why is it unsurprising that you have lost touch wi...Why is it unsurprising that you have lost touch with your firm friends?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3917175986608222742.post-27390152923935177972011-07-26T00:17:32.132-04:002011-07-26T00:17:32.132-04:00I am a WAHM mom, and I feel like my part-time sche...I am a WAHM mom, and I feel like my part-time schedule puts me on the outs with the full-timers AND the SAHMs. I don't have the flexibility to go to the playgroups and the storytimes when they're scheduled early in the day. The WOHMs are bound together by their shared experiences.

I'm a young mom, relatively speaking, and the first of my friends to have kids, so I'm starting from scratch. And you're right: it is a lot like dating. Or middle school! I have that same feeling of "like me, like me, like me" that I did in 8th grade.Cathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16475183245822795384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3917175986608222742.post-65593368508026843412011-07-20T12:04:40.190-04:002011-07-20T12:04:40.190-04:00a great post- as an attorney that works 4 days a w...a great post- as an attorney that works 4 days a week and a military wife I am surrounded by stay at home moms and wish I could be one- unfortunately finances as they are I can't. My SAHM friends have embraced the one day I have off and we have playdates every friday. I would encourage you not to forget about the moms you were friends with before you became full time SAHM as I am sure they appreciate you friendship more than you know. So, I can identify with so much of what you write.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
