I was worried I couldn't speak French anymore, wouldn't know how to handle the euro, didn't know how to use an ATM instead of traveler's checks, I was so disconnected from the woman I had been. But while there, I popped back into a 3 dimensional person, full and complete within myself, needing no entourage, no family relation to anchor me. I was just me and it was.....formidable!
